Raised in Michigan, surrounded by rolling farm fields, lakes, and beautiful woods, I began to explore nature at a very early age. Learning to observe gave me the insight and knowledge of how things interact and work together.
I still witness and observe life, internalizing it through all of my senses. I use my head and my gut, so when I go to put an experience onto the canvas it is rearranged and recombined. Images are developed by the layers of paint that combine with each other. Colors are created through the transparency. Line enhances and defines the images.
My current body of work stems from the intimate relationship that I have with nature and the way it interacts with my daily life. I record the moments, the beauty of a time witnessed. They are always as I experience them—in color.
